The social cooperation campaign (We Need Your Surplus)

This program, which started in 1986, was established to receive in-kind donations of clothing, blankets, food, and serviceable household items that exceed the immediate needs of the citizens. The General Union is duly authorized to administer the distribution of these donations to numerous citizens and charitable institutions. These contributions are predominantly sourced from individuals, local organizations, and international entities, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

These donations serve to support various vulnerable groups, including individuals and unprivileged families, orphanages, individuals with special needs, senior citizens, rural schools, and disadvantaged and remote communities. Among the most notable initiatives undertaken by the campaign are:

•    Providing in-kind aid to the distressed people in South Lebanon in 1996.

•    Providing in-kind assistance to aid the victims in Gaza during the 2014 humanitarian crisis through the Jordan           Hashemite Charity Organization.

•    Organizing national donation campaigns to rescue Iraqi victims and provide them with humanitarian aid.

•    Conducting periodic winter campaigns at the onset of the winter season to deliver essential in-kind and cash aid        to individuals adversely impacted by natural disasters during the winter, including floods, storms, and food                shortages.

•    Organizing Ramadan campaigns to distribute in-kind and cash assistance to the unprivileged members of                  society, including charity parcels and coupons, to alleviate the burden on unprivileged families.
