Islamic Entrepreneurs Company for Small Project Development and Financing

The General Union of Voluntary Societies established the Islamic Entrepreneurs Company for developing and financing small projects, a specialized, non-profit microfinance company focused on fighting poverty and unemployment in pockets of poverty, by granting loans to individuals of both genders through governorate unions and charitable societies, building on the General Union's experience since 1992 in microfinance programs (the Trust Funds Program) in some areas of the Kingdom.

  • Funding body: Jordan Phosphate Mines Company and the General Union of Voluntary Societies.
  • Target areas: Aqaba, Ma'an, Karak and Tafilah.
  • The company was liquidated at the end of 2019 due to its difficulties and the inability to raise its capital under the amended laws governing its work.
