Economic Empowerment Project "Together We Can"

The project aims at self-employment for women, and comes within the economic empowerment program adopted by the society to help improve life for families by enhancing the productivity of women in poor and low-income families. The society designed a set of activities to achieve this goal, raise awareness of the importance of small income-generating projects, and provide training in vocational and technical skills.

Project activities:

1. Training course on manufacturing and marketing the "Amiri" fringe, the "Royal" fringe and the youth Badia fringe, making heritage pieces such as bags and key rings, since it is a traditional Jordanian costume passed down through generations and in demand.

2. Training course on food processing and marketing of grape derivatives (grape molasses and jam, grape vinegar, raisins and khabeesa), as the city of Salt is famous for growing many grape trees, and grapes are among the best-known crops in the Zay area and surrounding areas.

3. Training course on the art of mosaic and marketing it (training on varied designs using stones, beads, metals, shells, glass and ceramic tiles, and mosaic drawings to produce artworks that express heritage).

4. Organizing an exhibition in the Gilead tourist area (Gilead Festival for Heritage and Home Products) to help the trained women market their products in the Gilead tourist area and introduce them. The management of Basmat Al-Khair Society, in cooperation with the institutions and bodies working in Zay district, will organize and announce the exhibition by printing promotional materials and brochures, as Gilead is an outstanding tourist destination.
