Princess Basma bint Ali sponsors the graduation of trainees in the economic empowerment project in Balqa
Today, Wednesday, Her Highness Princess Basma bint Ali sponsored the graduation activities of trainees in the economic empowerment project “Together We Can” for the areas of Zai and Alan in Balqa Governorate, and the opening of a rural products bazaar organized by the Basmat Al-Khair Women’s Charitable Association with the support of the General Union of Charitable Societies.
The head of the General Union of Charitable Societies, Dr. Atef Odaibat, said that the Union seeks to work in line with the royal directives to stand by the members of the local community and support projects that contribute to alleviating the burdens on poor families and providing job opportunities for many women.
He stressed the importance of the project, which aims to provide women with skills and experience that will enable them to create their own projects, appreciating Her Highness the Princess’ sponsorship of this graduation.
Odaibat stated that the Union directs its support towards productive projects, away from direct support, with the aim of achieving sustainable development, and to motivate associations to move towards economically feasible projects that will benefit them and contribute to employing the workforce.
He pointed out the importance of the role of associations in bringing about development, indicating that the Union is always keen to involve them in its activities and events, and to direct them to submit studies and projects to enhance their work mechanisms in a way that reflects positively on the local community.
In turn, the head of the Basmat Khair Association, Buthaina Al-Zoubi, said that the project aims to provide the participants with experience and skills in food manufacturing, marketing, and handicrafts that will enable them to enter the labor market to improve their families’ income and provide the local market with natural food.
She explained that the proceeds from this bazaar will be allocated to support the people of the Gaza Strip, confirming our support for His Majesty the King towards the people in Gaza and Palestine.
In turn, the trainee, Kafa Arabiyat, expressed how happy the participants are in this project, which contributes to improving the standard of living and developing their abilities and skills, calling on young people and job seekers to employ their energies, get out of the culture of shame, and find a source of income for themselves.
The events were attended by the Governor of Balqa, Dr. Firas Abu Qaoud, the Director of Balqa Police, Dr. Juma Al-Hamaidah, the Director of the Zay District, Mahmoud Braizat, the Vice President of the Union, Ayyash Krishan, the Director General of the Union, Khalil Al Qubaisi, and the Director of Projects in the Union, Shatha Qutaishat.
It is noteworthy that the “Together We Can” project targeted 30 women in the Zai and Allan area in Salt, and trained participants in food industries, handicrafts, electronic marketing, and creating small projects.
