The General Union of Charitable Societies confirmed that the Jordanian flag is an integral part of the nation-building process and indicates the growing feeling of patriotism among people and intensifies their feeling with a number of symbols, signs and colors and gives them meanings and connotations accumulated over time to preserve their national memory.
The head of the General Union of Charitable Societies, Dr. Atef Odaibat, said that the Jordanian flag is an occasion that expresses belonging to Jordan and the importance of rallying around the homeland’s flag under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II. It is a source of pride for all Jordanians, represents national symbolism, and embodies the meanings of pride, unity, freedom, dignity, and pride in the national flag.
He pointed out that today we are looking at our flag, whose redness was stained with the blood of the martyrs, whose greenness was irrigated by dew drops, and whose blackness showed signs of seriousness on the faces of the people of Jordan and their loyalty to its past and future, and whose whiteness showed pure loving hearts dreaming of a free homeland and dying for it.
He stressed that the flag is a symbol and meaning of pride and prestige of the state and a source of personal pride for the Jordanian person who embraces the flag on all occasions and celebrations.
He pointed out that the Jordanian flag, with its Hashemite symbolism and religious, historical and military significance, will remain the natural extension of the banner of the Great Arab Revolt, which embraced the colors of civilization filled with an ancient history linking the present to the past and passed down through generations as a symbol of life, sovereignty and independence.
Let us celebrate the Jordanian National Flag Day.. Our flag is high and it is a precious symbol that will remain forever.
May God protect Jordan’s land, leadership and people
