The Union of Charitable Societies in Aqaba holds a festival of loyalty to the leader and belonging to the homeland
The President of the General Union of Charitable Societies, Dr. Atef Udaybat, in the presence of the Chairman of the Aqaba Special Economic Council of Commissioners, Nayef Al-Fayez, and senior officials of the Authority, sponsored the activities of the Loyalty to the Leader and Belonging to the Homeland Festival and a charity bazaar, “Aqaba Deserves It,” on the occasion of the silver jubilee of His Majesty King Abdullah II’s accession to the throne.
Odaibat stressed that the Kingdom, since His Majesty assumed his constitutional powers, has witnessed a renaissance and development in the political, economic, social and cultural sectors, public services, infrastructure, communications, technology and education.
He explained the importance of partnership between unions and cooperation in establishing such bazaars, which contribute to strengthening the role of associations and community development, marketing the products of rural families and effective associations, introducing their activities, improving work mechanisms, and promoting the message of charitable, voluntary and humanitarian work and social solidarity.
Adaibat praised the Authority’s cooperation and support for developmental, voluntary, charitable, cooperative and environmental work and support for activities and programs implemented by many institutions.
The head of the Union of Charitable Societies in Aqaba, Ali Al-Ahiwat, pointed out that the festival held annually by the Union coincides with the Kingdom’s celebrations of important national occasions, praising the support of the Aqaba Authority and the General Union of Charitable Societies and the organization of events and programs in various governorates of the Kingdom to enhance its message in the service of volunteer and social work.
Adaibat opened an exhibition of the associations’ products, including popular foods, artifacts, handicrafts, and heritage products.
