The General Union of Charitable Societies affirmed its continued efforts to strengthen the charitable and developmental work system, contributing to supporting vulnerable groups and reinforcing the values of social solidarity and mutual support.
According to a statement issued by the Union on Monday, its president, Amer Khawaldeh, said that the Union, as the broadest national umbrella organization for charitable work in Jordan, is working to develop the performance of its member societies and empower them to fulfill their humanitarian mission through training, capacity building, and expanding partnerships with the public and private sectors and international organizations.
He added that the Union is committed to ensuring that charitable work in Jordan serves as a model of responsible giving and institutional organization, in line with the Hashemite vision that has given great importance to social and humanitarian work. He noted that its programs and initiatives align with national efforts to combat poverty and unemployment and improve living standards.
He explained that the Union has launched national initiatives aimed at supporting needy families, empowering women and youth, and providing food, medical, and educational assistance to the most vulnerable groups, emphasizing that the spirit of human solidarity that characterizes Jordanian society remains the cornerstone of continued giving.
He commended the Ministry of Social Development's role in supporting and nurturing civil society work, emphasizing that the existing cooperation between the two sides contributes to achieving balanced development, social justice, and strengthening social stability.
Al-Khawaldeh noted that the Union will remain committed to its mission of promoting the values of compassion, solidarity, and humanity, relying on the partnership of associations, volunteers, and loyal supporters who, through their ongoing initiatives, embody the meaning of giving and belonging.
