Charitable organizations and the "My Health in My School" initiative sign a memorandum of understanding.

The General Union of Voluntary Societies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Thursday with the Higher Committee of the "My Health in My School" initiative. The agreement aims to foster joint cooperation in health, awareness, and community-related fields, and to support programs and initiatives designed to raise health and preventive awareness among students and local community members.

The MoU was signed on behalf of the Union by its President, Amer Al-Khawaldeh, and on behalf of the initiative by the Higher Committee’s Chairman, Dr. Shaher Al-Shatnawi. The signing ceremony was attended by the Union’s Vice President, Lawyer Dr. Barakat Barakat; Director General Khalil Al-Qubaisi; Director of Unions and Societies Reham Amayreh; and, representing the Higher Committee, Dr. Alaa Al-Zoubi and Dr. Abeer Jallad.

Al-Khawaldeh stated that the MoU reflects the General Union's commitment to expanding cooperation with national institutions and initiatives, as well as supporting health, awareness, and community programs that contribute to promoting a culture of health among students and the local community.

He highlighted the importance of leveraging the network of charitable societies spread across the Kingdom's governorates. As active community partners capable of reaching diverse segments of society, these societies facilitate the implementation of health and awareness programs and activities on a broader and more effective scale.

For his part, Al-Shatnawi commended the General Union of Voluntary Societies for its role in supporting community initiatives. He emphasized that the MoU establishes a framework for strengthening partnership and coordination between the two parties and expanding the scope of the "My Health in My School" initiative to better serve students and the community.

He also underscored the importance of complementary efforts between national institutions and civil society organizations in disseminating health and preventive concepts and fostering sound health behaviors among students through awareness and training programs tailored to their needs. The memorandum stipulates support for the initiative’s programs across the Kingdom’s governorates, the promotion of health and preventive awareness among students and the local community, and the implementation of lectures, workshops, and health-related awareness events. It also entails leveraging the Union’s centers and associations located throughout the governorates to carry out joint activities and programs.

Furthermore, the memorandum aims to enhance coordination and the exchange of expertise between the two parties, thereby contributing to the development of health and awareness programs and the achievement of a sustainable community impact.
