Today, the activities of the training workshop in the field of conservation for charitable organizations opened in the hall of the Regency Palace Hotel, organized by the General Union of Charitable Societies in cooperation with the Union of Charitable Societies of the Capital Governorate, the Resource Center for Supporting Conservation in the Middle East and North Africa (RSH), and the Emdaj Company for Development and Training Consultations.

The President of the General Union of Charitable Societies, Dr. Atef Udaybat, who sponsored the opening of the workshop, stressed that the General Union, since its establishment, has been keen to build the capabilities of charitable organizations in our beloved Kingdom, which are under the banner of the General Union of Charitable Societies, in various economic and social fields, and to work to raise the level of social work in Jordan to be an arm of official institutions. In implementing sustainable development.

He pointed out that safeguarding is one of the trainings concerned with developing the capacities of associations to work in safe environments and enabling their employees to provide services in safe conditions, aiming to reduce sexual harassment or sexual exploitation in addition to protecting associations and beneficiaries alike.

He stated that the training in the field of safeguarding comes in conjunction with the legislative authority’s approval several days ago of the law amending the Labor Code, the article that talks about harassment, which imposed financial fines on anyone who does so, in line with the regulations and legislation that protect human rights and international covenants related to that.

He said that the Union is continuously implementing courses to develop the skills of Union workers, in addition to holding training workshops in the governorates to benefit the largest possible number of associations and members of the local community. A course on treasurers for associations was recently held to enable them in the field of managing their administrative and financial affairs, in addition to this workshop that is being held today. In order to raise the capabilities of charitable organizations and enhance safeguarding in humanitarian work.

He appreciated the role of donor organizations and institutions in promoting the mission and goals of the General Union through holding and training workshops to develop the capabilities of participants from unions, associations, and local communities throughout the country on various topics of interest to them.

The head of the Federation of Charitable Societies in the Capital Governorate, Lawyer Barakat Barakat, praised the efforts of the General Federation, represented by its president, Dr. Adibat, and its keenness to support and support federations and associations to carry out their mission towards their local communities.

The Federation's Projects Director, Shatha Qutaishat, explained that this workshop comes within the agreement that the General Federation signed with the RSH and Integration Organization to implement training courses for charitable organizations in the field of conservation as a first stage in each of the governorates of the capital, Ireed, Zarqa, and Madaba).

The representative of Jordan at the Resource Center to Support Conservation in the Middle East and North Africa at RSH, Omar Qawasmeh, provided an explanation of the workshop, which included a number of issues related to how to conduct an assessment of risks that threaten conservation, organize this assessment of risks to the mission of the organization or institution in which the employee works, its structure, and identify relevant categories. He pointed out that self-evaluation tools help organizations know which international conservation standards they currently meet, or which ones they must work to conduct a regular evaluation to monitor and measure the progress the organization is making regarding ensuring conservation, updating plans, and what are the organizational standards for providing conservation.
