• The Vocational Training Corporation and the General Union of Charitable Societies Launch a National Partnership for Economic Empowerment and Vocational Training in the Governorates

In a strategic step reflecting the unification of national efforts to empower local communities and enhance employment opportunities, the Vocational Training Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding with the General Union of Charitable Societies. The signing ceremony was attended by the Director General of the Corporation, Mr. Raafat Mousa Al-Sawafin, the President of the Union, Mr. Amer Al-Khawaldeh, and the heads of the Union's branches in the governorates of Amman, Irbid, Jerash, Karak, Aqaba, and Ajloun, along with several directors from the Corporation. The agreement aims to expand cooperation in vocational training and community development.
The memorandum aims to implement joint vocational training programs in all governorates, in coordination with member associations. It also aims to identify the needs of local communities and link them to appropriate vocational specializations, and to conduct specialized workshops in entrepreneurship, future skills, and modern specializations. This will keep pace with the changing demands of the labor market and contribute to strengthening economic empowerment and sustainable development.
During the signing ceremony, the Director General of the Vocational Training Corporation, Mr. Raafat Mousa Al-Sawafin, welcomed the President of the Federation and its Board members, emphasizing the importance of this partnership in supporting economic empowerment efforts and enhancing the skills of individuals across the governorates.
Mr. Al-Sawafin presented an overview of the Vocational Training Corporation and its national role in preparing and qualifying human resources, in addition to the diverse training programs and specializations it offers, which meet the needs of the local and regional labor market.
Mr. Al-Sawafin stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships with the private sector, noting that vocational training programs are no longer limited to the local labor market but now extend to regional and international markets, most notably the German and Italian markets, reflecting the development and competitiveness of training outcomes.
He emphasized the need to reorganize and activate cooperation with charitable organizations and to distribute training efforts systematically among the governorates, while developing a roadmap that identifies the needs of these organizations and local communities. This roadmap will ensure that training programs are directed towards the most in-demand specializations with a direct developmental impact.
For his part, the President of the General Union of Charitable Societies emphasized the vital role of the Vocational Training Corporation in empowering and preparing individuals for the labor market. He stressed the genuine synergy between the two entities, given their shared goal of serving the community and enhancing employment opportunities.
He noted that this partnership represents a significant step towards aligning the needs of charitable societies with appropriate training programs, thereby contributing to sustainable community development and improving the skills of beneficiaries across the Kingdom.
He explained that the General Union of Charitable Societies in Jordan is a leading national umbrella organization for regulating and developing charitable work. It comprises a large number of societies spread throughout the Kingdom and contributes to promoting volunteerism and community service.
This memorandum of understanding aligns with the Vocational Training Corporation's commitment to strengthening effective partnerships and expanding its training programs to reach diverse segments of society, thereby supporting economic empowerment and sustainable development.
